"Ned & Stacey" was a funny comedy on Fox that provided Debra with her first big starring role. The series co-starred Thomas Hayden-Church and was really the first thing I ever noticed Debra in. The premise was typical sitcom fare: an egotistical business executive needs a wife to fit in at work, and a down-on-her luck gal needs an apartment. The two decide to get married. In a lesser TV show, the two would have developed an unrequited love for each other, but this show never stooped that low. They hated each other, and pretty much continued to hate each other through the life of the show. Pair this with top-notch writing and you get a sit-com that never really got its due.
