Murphy Brown was a television series about a newswoman on a nightime news magazine show. The main character was played by Candace Bergen. Faith played Corky Sherwood, a sort of ditzy blond who was a former Ms. America and was hired as one of the newswomen on the show to do the "fluff" stories. As her character aged, she got more serious about her work. The show had its ups and downs. It usually tried too hard to imitate real events, so it wound up with stupid parallels to things like O.J., the tobacco industry, and political scandals that came off as forced. The show got really bad in its last few years with the departure of some of the funnier characters (Elden, Phil, and Miles), so bad in fact that I stopped watching it.
